The project with an annual output of 600000 tons of olefin with coal is planned to complete the design of the project's process package, overall design and bidding work of the general body institute before June 30, 2017, and start construction on July 1. According to reports, starting from November 24, 2016, the general manager of Datong Coal Group Company will be directly in charge of the construction of the 600000-ton/year methanol-to-olefin project and the daily work of the olefin project preparation office. The 600000-ton methanol-to-olefin project will invest 1 billion yuan in 2017, and further research will be carried out to support the construction of the 1.2 million-ton coal-to-methanol project.

Datong Coal to Olefin Project with an annual output of 600000 tons is an extension project of 600000 tons coal to methanol product chain of Datong Coal Group, and is also the core project of coal chemical industry in Tashan Industrial Park of Datong Coal. The total investment of the project is planned to be 10.092 billion yuan, with an annual output of 251300 tons of polyethylene and 441200 tons of polypropylene.
