On January 15, 2016, Shaanxi Baonitrogen Group's 100000-ton/year methanol-to-aromatics project in the first phase of relocation and technological transformation was officially put into operation. Baotan Group is located in Changqing Industrial Park, Fengxiang County. The project is planned to be implemented in two phases, with the first phase of the project investing 348.4 million yuan and the second phase of the project investing 895 million yuan. After the completion of the project, the estimated annual sales revenue is 3559 million yuan. 600 employees can be resettled. Construction covers an area of 316.26 acres, with a total investment of 1245 million yuan.
This project is a key project assessed by the Shaanxi Provincial Government in 2015. In February 2014, the 100000-ton/year methanol-to-aromatics project of Baoji Nitrogen Group was approved by Baoji Municipal Development and Reform Commission. The main products of the first-phase 100000-ton/year methanol-to-aromatics project are light aromatics and by-products of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and heavy aromatics in the process of synthesizing aromatics, of which light aromatics are 100000 tons/year, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is 14390 tons/year, and heavy aromatics are 11270 tons/year. After the completion of the first phase of the project, the average annual sales revenue is expected to be 0.85 billion yuan.
Phase I 100000 tons/year methanol to aromatics project adopts the one-step methanol conversion to aromatics process jointly developed by Shanxi Institute of Coal Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Saiding Engineering Company and Yunnan Coal Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. using a fixed bed adiabatic reactor. Compared with other fixed bed aromatics technology, the reactor and corresponding catalyst for methanol conversion to dimethyl ether are omitted, the equipment manufacturing cost and the investment intensity of the device are reduced, and the production process control is simpler and more reasonable. Product lead-free, sulfur-free, low benzene, high octane number, good quality. The production process is energy-saving and environmentally friendly, wastewater recycling, without any odor, is an environment-friendly project.
Baoji Nitrogen Fertilizer Plant was reorganized and restructured into Shaanxi Baoji Nitrogen Chemical Group Co., Ltd. after the policy bankruptcy, with a registered capital of RMB 132.65 million. The company inherited the assets and qualifications of the original Baoji Nitrogen Fertilizer Plant in Shaanxi Province and was officially listed in January 2010. Baoji State-owned Assets Management Co., Ltd. holds 100 of the shares of Shaanxi Baoji Nitrogen Chemical Group Co., Ltd.
