Shenhua Xinjiang 680000-ton coal-based new material project is invested and constructed by Xinjiang Coal Chemical Branch of China Shenhua Coal-to-Oil Chemical Co., Ltd., which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shenhua Group-China Shenhua Coal-to-Oil Chemical Co., Ltd. Branch, established in March 2012.

Shenhua Xinjiang 680000 Ton Coal-based New Materials Project is located in Ganquanbao Industrial Zone, Urumqi, Xinjiang. It adopts coal water slurry pressurization process with a total investment of 22.3 billion yuan. It mainly produces new materials such as polypropylene and polyethylene, and by-produces high value-added products such as propane, C4, C5 and sulfur. The polyethylene unit adopts the TS tubular production process technology Lupotech by BASELL Company, and the polypropylene unit adopts the horizontal reactor technology of INEOS Company.

The project was officially started in July 2013. On August 31, 2015, the gasification unit of Xinjiang Shenhua 680000-ton coal-based new materials project was handed over. The project will enter the transportation guarantee stage. On November 7, 2015, the purification unit of the project was successfully handed over. In late February 2016, Shenhua Xinjiang coal-based new material PP plant has completed trial run. Currently, the plant is being debugged. It is planned to produce PP pellet qualified products from the end of March to the beginning of April and PE qualified products

in May.
